Bianca Ramirez

In 2011, while training for a marathon in the Boston area, artist and performer Bianca Ramirez fell victim to a man who strangled and raped her and left her for dead. For two weeks, she lay in bed, battered and bruised. Unable to speak, she found her voice through writing. Her memoir turned into the play “I survived” starring Dascha Polanco from “Orange is the New Black”.

Miami’s Latin and Caribbean feel has helped to recover her soul – here she found the vibrancy of her Dominican heritage and the deep roots of her culture. Biscayne Bay offers plenty of opportunity to spend time in and on the water, her favorite element.

Read in the Miami Woman book how left her abusive home life to attend both UMASS Lowell and Harvard, how she became a writer and performer and how she ended up working with high profile celebrities in the sports and arts & entertainment industry.

Lifestyle photography shot on location at a mansion in Pinecrest, FL and on a yacht on Biscayne Bay.
