Femke Tewari | Miami and Paris Beauty and Lifestyle Photographer and Videographer | Fragrance campaign for House of Iyrah

Samira, the owner of House of Iyrah, a black woman owned brand, wanted to tell the story of a day in the life of a sophisticated woman on holiday in Europe for the launch of her new fragrance 823. HOI hired The Concept Agency for the creative direction,, model Shelby of Fragrance Lush and found a mediterranean style house in West Palm Beach, close to Miami. We shot poolside at the house, then with an old-timer Cadillac that they had rented.

In the afternoon we were picked up by the captain of a fabulous boat who brought us to a paradise-like location at the intra-coastal. It’s hard to convey the amount of work that goes into a shoot like this, for which I alternated photography and videography. The months of preparation by the creative agency and of course the work after the shoot is done. But the more work you put into it, the better the outcome, as always.

Instead of focusing too much on the perfume or the bottle, we really wanted it to be a lifestyle shoot, where the perfume was just a hint here and there.

Nowadays I split my time between Miami, Paris and Athens, Greece and basically shoot anywhere globally. I still focus on swimwear and fashion but increasingly tell stories with videography for lifestyle (which I feel fragrance is) and hotel brands.
